- Sizing of renewable heat and cooling production,
- Location of the central boiler plant and routing of the networks,
- Presentation of the different technical scenarios,
- Summary of investments,
- Forecasted operation of the boiler plant,
- Estimation of operating costs,

- Legal structuring of projects.
Project specifications
The Bastia territory is dependent on fossil energies, notably propane gas for its thermal needs. The city of Bastia is committed to an energy transition process with the objective of gradually eliminating propane gas and developing renewable energies.
Five projects have been identified to address these challenges, which can be implemented between 2020 and 2030:
- Project 1: Implementation of a wood cogeneration plant associated with a district heating network to serve the hospital, the Montesoro/Cité Aurore neighborhoods, and nearby residential areas. Integration of absorption cooling units to produce cold for the hospital and the nursing home (EHPAD).
- Project 2: Creation of a heat and cooling production plant using seawater, with a network dedicated to public and private institutions in downtown Bastia.
- Project 3: Injection of biogas into the existing propane network through an organic waste methanization unit.
- Project 4: Thermal rehabilitation of housing outside the scope of heat and cooling networks.
- Project 5: Implementation of dedicated boiler plants and small district heating networks based on wood chips/pellets for facilities and housing outside the coverage areas of projects 1 and 2.
