University of Rennes Beaulieu
The client’s objectives and expectations
Our objective was to optimize the refrigeration systems and renovate outdated equipment. This approach aims to improve energy efficiency, reduce maintenance costs, and extend the lifespan of the installations.

Our main missions
To address the energy optimization challenges of the University of Rennes Beaulieu and refurbish outdated facilities, a cooling network solution with heat recovery was devised. Best Energies initiated the Public Service Delegation procedure up to its award.
Project characteristics:
- 2 MW refrigeration plant,
- 1.5 km cooling network,
- Supply to 7 delivery substations.
Results obtained
The project was completed and commissioned, ensuring the full supply of the University of Beaulieu’s cooling needs. Extensions for heat recovery are planned for 2024/2025.
This project is particularly innovative, as there are few cooling networks in France. Moreover, heat recovery significantly improves the energy efficiency of the cycle.
