Our mission:

Our mission is to address an operational issue affecting the heating and domestic hot water distribution systems of the residence.

Our mission consisted in restoring heating and hot water services to all occupants, ensuring fairness.

It included:

  • A handover and commissioning phase,
  • A preliminary design phase with,
  • The diagnosis of operational issues,
  • The study of a corrective solution,
  • The budget estimate,
  • A tender document preparation phase in three stages,
  • A tendering assistance phase,
  • A design approval phase,
  • A works execution phase.

The context

The residence includes several buildings, connected to two substations linked to the district heating network. These substations provide heating and domestic hot water for the entire residence.

The distribution networks, originating from the substations, run horizontally through the basement of the buildings as well as underground. Each network successively supplies several buildings.

However, the occupants of the buildings farthest from the substations suffer from insufficient heating and non-compliant hot water quality, with excessive waiting times to access these services.

It is in this context that BEST ENERGIES was called upon to intervene and resolve these issues.

Key elements (benefits and constraints of the project)

The project design only targets the refurbishment of the networks and their balancing. The creation of substations was not considered feasible:

  • For technical reasons: The district heating network produces heating and hot water.
  • For financial reasons: Cost of creating new technical facilities.
